The mother of this orphanage, Mrs Wilhelmine Afrikaner takes care of a 124 vulnerable children (85 girls and 39 boys). The age’s ranges from 1 year up to 17 years incl. 5 babies. This orphanage is self funding. No fix donor supports them, they rely on good Samaritans for groceries and any support for maintenance at the hostel incl. the 150 lt Kwikot solar water heaters that were also a donation.
In one year, this installation gives a solar yield of 7.50 MWh and is responsible for the avoidance of 2600.00 kilograms of CO2 emissions.
